We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our highly motivated, talented and driven Legal & Strategy Department.

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you will successfully provide legal support and day to day advice across a diverse range of commercial, dispute resolution, intellectual property, brand protection, and legal operation matters.

The primary focus of the role will be to:

  • Review and update all Corporation’s terms and conditions required by the business including conditions of entry and sale, corporate facility order forms and general conditions of contracts
  • Drafting and negotiation of various agreements
  • Become the trusted business partner in guiding procurement and tendering processes
  • Preparation of tender documents and management and provision of strategic advice and guidance to ensure commercial outcomes are optimised
  • Manage online and hardcopy filing system of Contracts including continually uploading contracts to ensure the accuracy of the contract management system
  • Map and deliver a contract priority system, both in terms of current drafting and future procurement priorities
  • Assist FOI officer with administration of Freedom of Information requests and overall business compliance
  • Assist with the administrative requirements of the Board and committees
  • Identify and communicate contractual risk effectively

This role will work closely with key functions across AGPC and its business units, including Operations, Sales & Commercial and Marketing & Experience.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualified with a Bachelor of Law
  • Three or more years’ experience at a law firm or in an in-house legal role
  • Strong analytical mind and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to interpret legal, regulatory policy and propose pragmatic solutions
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills - able to draft clear and pragmatic advice and commercial contracts and other legal documents
  • Strong stakeholder management and partnering skills; able to engage and build relationships across all levels and communicate legal issues clearly and succinctly
  • Able to work autonomously and effectively manage time and deliver against multiple projects and priorities, providing regular updates and escalating issues as appropriate
